Your privacy is important. Nothing you share with a therapist will be communicated to anyone without your prior written consent.
Therapy services are bound by “Duty to Report” legislation, which means there are some exceptions to confidentiality (such as if you are at imminent risk of harming yourself or someone else; if you disclose a person under the age of 16 is at risk of abuse/neglect; if your file or therapist are subpoenaed).
Email is not considered secure and therefore should be used for inquiring and scheduling purposes only.
Are services covered by OHIP/benefit plans?
Social work services are not covered by OHIP.
Most services offered by Registered Social Workers (RSW) are covered by insurance companies. It is your responsibility to inquire directly with your provider.
Fees?
The fee for a 50 minute individual counselling session is $145 (no HST) and is paid via e-transfer.
